Yes, I do sort of feel bad for my future great grandchildren, and the hard, horrible lives they’ll live scraping by in the dust-tundra of coastal Kansas. The New York Times Co. said it has sold more than half its holdings in the Fenway Sports Group, which includes the Boston Red Sox, for $117 million.
This related story seems at least somewhat relevant.
The financially responsible thing for the New York Times Company to do for its stockholders is to sell off the paper and buy a larger share in the Red Sox.
